What is Firebase Cloud Messaging and why is AppMachine moving to this service?
Firebase Cloud Messaging is Google's solution for sending push notifications to your users. Currently AppMachine uses Google Cloud Messaging. The service will be discontinued in May 2019, as announced by Google, which is why we're moving to Firebase Cloud Messaging.

Will I need a separate Firebase account for each app I publish?
No, this is not required. However, in terms of manageability we advise you to create your Firebase account on the same Google account as the one on which your Android app is published.
Do I need to create a new Firebase project for each of my AppMachine apps?
No, you can use the same project id and server key for multiple AppMachine apps. We will create a new unique app within the Firebase project.
What information do I need to enter in my AppMachine app?
To use Firebase Cloud Messaging for push messaging you only need the Server Key and Project ID.
What happens if I enter an incorrect Server Key and/or Project ID?
Your app will not be able to send push messages to your users, and AppMachine will not be able to configure your Firebase Cloud Messaging project.
Can I view statistics for push messages sent to my AppMachine app(s)?
Yes, you can view the statistics for the push messages you've sent.
Is Firebase Cloud Messaging free?
Yes. The usage of Firebase Cloud Messaging is free.
Can I use other features Firebase offers in AppMachine?
AppMachine apps only use Firebase Cloud Messaging for sending push messages.
What happens to my app when no Firebase account is linked?
Your app will not be able to send push messages to your users.
Will the original Push Message block be affected by the switch to Firebase Cloud Messaging?
The original Push Message block will be updated, but will function the same as it used to.
Will my custom Push API setup be affected by the switch to Firebase Cloud Messaging?
Your current setup will remain functional. The front-end of our Push Message system will remain the same as you're used to.
