Developer Account Do's & Don'ts

This article provides an overview of developer account requirements, and common developer account issues that may prevent you from publishing your app with AppMachine. It is separated into two sections: Apple and Google. Each section will display an overview of developer account requirements. At the bottom of each section, you will find a list of common errors during account validation and how to resolve them.

Apple

An Apple Developer account has access to two environments:

Apple Developer Portal

Do’s

You should:

  • Be enrolled in the iOS Developer Program or Enterprise Program.
  • Have account role: Agent or Admin.
  • Accept all pending Apple Developer Program License Agreements.

Don’ts

You should not:

  • Have access to multiple Apple Developer teams.

iTunes Connect

Do’s

You should:

  • Have, at minimum, account role: App Manager / Technical.
  • Accept all pending agreements.

Don’ts

You should not:

  • Access to multiple iTunes Connect teams.
  • Have 2-step login verification enabled on your account.

 

Google

Do’s

You should:

  • Be registered as a Google Play developer.
  • Have enough rights to create, edit, and publish apps in the Google Play Store.
  • Accept all pending Google Play Developer License Agreements.
  • Add a recovery phone number in your Google Account security settings.

Don’ts

You should not:

  • Have access to multiple Google Play developer consoles.
  • Have 2-step login verification enabled on your account.
